simples

Hi everyone! Monday, bloody Monday, the start of a new week. Can you believe that it's nearly the end of January?? This year is going to fly by so fast, I don't know what to make of it!

I've been getting confused with the days of the week as i've been at work so much, even though today really did feel like a weekday as it was so much quieter and less busy than any of our weekend days (Friday-Sunday). Today, nearly everyone found out if they had been promoted or not (that's the literal way of explaining things without sounding confusing!). I mean, obviously I haven't worked at Cyberdog for very long so I don't really know the whole "political" side of things, but to quickly break the situation down;

Each area has a specialist, kind of like the "boss" of that area (of course, the managers are the "boss" of everything but these are people specifically assigned to take over this area - i.e. specialist) and then you get a "2nd" which I guess is like a deputy? So when the "boss" is not working, the "2nd" will be working instead.

So, anyway, current specialists and those who are not specialists found out today if they would be taking over a new area, or being "upgraded" (if you like) to a 2nd, or indeed specialist! It was exciting to hear what everyone would be doing, and congratulations! I've never really been in a position where you could get some kind of "promotion". Sure, at the hospital I was given way more things to do and such because I was reliable and more trusted than the others but I didn't really see it as a promotion, more as a few extra things added to my list. It's all a bit confusing, but nevertheless, as long as everyone is still happy with what they're doing, then that's great!

I guess I wanted to mention something that some people may have been wondering for a little while...Since the end of Hib, I have tried to not really post in the Gal Communites (lj, ricoche etc), not because I don't want to or am not interested anymore, but because of all the stuff that went down, I just kind of wanted to distance myself from it. I can tell you, not being in a Gal Circle and having frequent meets and seeing your friends on a regular basis is so weird! I think it's been, what...maybe like 6 months or something since it ended? It's been a quick 6 months, and it's also been a really nice 6 months too. I think i'm now a more relaxed person than I used to be, and my attitude has definitely calmed down. Yes I have said things in the past that have caused outrage and so on, but the majority of the time while Hib was still active, I wasn't the "horrible person" people made me out to be. I think it's the pressure of being a "leader" or "in charge", and I guess that can kind of go to your head. I definitely wasn't abusing my "role", but I think that because of the facade that I had, I was definitely misunderstood.

I think this break from the Gal Community for the past half a year has been a welcome change. If anything, i'm so different now! If anything, i'm more shy lol! I work all the time, and I don't even get much time to see Dec, Floz, Caryn and Georgie anymore, let alone Emmie and Lucie and Kei, and all the old Hib members! This is what I mean about how weird it is not being in a Circle. It kind of feels like a break up haha! Writing this was kind of due to the Gal Secrets post about UK Gals, and that the Hib logo was used as the photo. To be honest, the most active UK Gals in the scene right now are Lhouraii, Delight and Majikko girls! I think the New Year will be a good change, as I want to be able to meet some of the UK Gals (we haven't all met, contrary to popular belief) and see what they're up to!

On a lighter note, thank you to the person who posted the secret about my blog! I'm glad you enjoy reading it, and i'm glad you like the photo too! I'll definitely keep making posts! :D

Here's a photo, so not to bore you!
A corner shop (convenience store) selling lots of American candy and cereals! The window was much bigger but this is the only snap I got. No longer to overpriced Cyber Candy!

FINLAND: Part 3

Suuunday~! Unfortunately this was my last proper day in Helsinki! I really wish I could have stayed til the Monday! Technically I could have done since all the shit happened with my job, but at the time of booking I was still "allowed" there so :( FAIL! Anyways, after packing and checking out, I went back to Monica and Ingvild's hotel to do my hair and make-up. Lol I arrived at 11:30 and we didn't leave til 15:00! Monica did my hair again and gave me a whole lesson, and proclaimed us hair twins! <3

At Monica & Ingvild's hotel

Outfit and hair for the day

We met Keikk again and went back to Gloria after eating in MacDonalds (3rd time lol!) for the Shibuya Heat Wave gig. The doors were supposed to open at 4, but we ended up shivering and getting rained on until nearly 5pm! suuucks. I really thought I was going to miss the concert as my flight was at 21:15 and I had to leave by 18:30 the latest to go back to my hotel to pick up my suitcase and go to the airport! However, the doors finally opened and I did see the gig lol. Although it was an enjoyable experience, I have to say I wasn't as impressed as I thought I was going to be and I felt let down as the girls just mimed to their songs! A couple of times, the guy doing the mixing would turn their mics up and I think they were least expecting it and they kind of "sang" over the music, but apart from those moment, the rest was just miming :( They had remixed some songs together, so I think they only played like 2 or maybe 3 of their songs in full. I don't think they had a proper, full sound check or run through as a bit in one song came up and Aina was supposed to open her mouth and didn't so the track played her voice but she didn't actually move her lips...eek!

They played "Agepoyo" with the girls singing the whole song (as I doubt Crown Records would pay for all the 12+ (or however many it is) "Shibuya Gals" to fly to Finland just for one song. It was...kind of awful. Sorry, but Aina REALLY shouldn't give up her day job... They also played their new song "White Lover" which was an XMas son and I think the song they filmed their PV for in Finland. They asked if anyone had a birthday this month (ME!) and gave out postcards featuring the girls in different outfits and one or two of them on the beach on their recent New Caledonia trip, and also threw posters to girls who could catch! Ingvild wanted a poster so bad so she like nearly fought some girl and got it! ACE!!! :D

The postcard I got! Scanner gave it weird lines :z

At the end of it all, Yuma cried! When they cleared out the hall (REALLY promptly with some blonde woman like screaming at people to gtfo) all the foreign gals got whisked upstairs to meet the girls and take photos and do a big group interview for Fuji TV. The girls gave everyone hugs and Yuma came up to me and personally thanked me for the special puri I had given her and she looked like she was going to cry again! She's so sweeeeeet!!! I FORGOT how to talk at this point, and said "uh.....daijoubu desu/that's okay" when I SHOULD have said "douitashimashite/you're welcome" and Yuma just looked at me and said "...daijoubu desu?" and I said "uh..hai!" and I think she was like wtf lol but she still smiled and gave me a hug all the same lol! I said we were twins in our outfits and she was like YES! D.I.A.!!!! lol! Koi-chan took a photo of us hugging :p The TV crew asked us if there was anything we wanted to tell the girls and a few people inc. me said that we were so happy for them to come to Finland and that they are inspirations and role models etc and the girls were like "we're not role models!" but they are!! They know they are :D
They had to choose 3 girls to take a photo with for egg but apparently it was too difficult to decide so they picked like 6 people, me, Pin, Viivi, Rebecca and some other girls. I think they chose more girls as after I had my pic done, it was 18:30 (on the dot!) and I had to rush away and I saw more girls going in to take their picture. Yuma slammed the door so noone culd get in lol and people kept trying to open the door and she kept hitting it back! Koi-chan's camera kept going funny and Yuma said "what's up?!!!!!" LOL she's so funny. I was really worrying about how I was going to get a cab back to my hotel as there are no ranks and I had no number so I asked a guy in a convenience store if he knew where the nearest one was and he directed me, but I said "considering that this is my first ever time to Helsinki!" and he said "or I can just order you one :D" and he did! Omg so fucking kind! One of the nicest strangers i've ever met! Especially as I had huge mad hair and tiny shorts on! I gt my flight okay and on time and arrived at the hotel early as there was no traffic :D

The Fuji TV thing we were all given to fill out. Paul never took it so I still have it lol!
The answers were from Saturday, and I didn't know how to describe my look so I just said "rokku gal" lol!

I will definitely be going back to Helsinki! I had such an awesome weekend, it's unreal! My next trip will be to Norway in February 2011 to visit Monica! I was due to go to Paris next weekend but that's also the weekend of my birthday so I can't make it anymore :( sucks! I want to do a globe tour of gals!!!

L-R:
Keikk, Monica, Me, Ingvild

Taken from Keikk's blog! In all the SLR and good cameras I look like a draq queen LOL! This picture probably more so as you can see my affair with blusher and my awkward hand placement could lead to all kinds of random comments....oh well :D

the rush to be lush

(PHOTO HEAVY BLOG)

Allo.

I have some grrreat news! Its going to be grreat! They're gonna taste grreat!

(Just to annoy y'all UK kids)

Yeah. So; the great thing is that I have a new boss at work! Well, a new person in charge of me and the other Theatre Aides (my job title) : D! Shes a Senior ODP - operating department practitioner - and my dad and everyone had known her for ages. Shes a classy, tell-it-to-your-face American woman and I love her! She really has always looked out for me at work so its great to know I have someone I actually like and trust to be in charge of me! And, she's being fairer than the PRICK I had before, and actually giving me more shifts - which he said he couldn't give me - so ill be back to working 5 days again..a long stretch but my purse will most definitely enjoy this!

Aside from this, Ive come to share some photos and stuff, as per. I got my camera back from Niijii the other week, so here are the photos from the same day as this post:

stupid guy took a picture while I had my eyes and doing mash potato...

STREET SNAP!

Caryn~

Nij~

Floz~

Moi~

And then when I went back to Nij's, I dressed up as a fortune teller..haha! I actually liked the look!

There are other photos but im not uploading them here LOL. There are some videos ill try and upload through the Blogger video thing, maybe the next blog post~

Last weekend, I went to Norwich to see gals! I saw Toni, Bloomzy, Alanna, Claire, and their friend Katie :D
We had a great time hanging out, chatting and going round the stores. Toni said "oh, Norwich isn't very big really"..ITS DAMN HUGE!
photos!

I was cheeky and went 1st class on the train as it was cheap with my railcard (which ive just remembered that I need to renew...shit) and it was soo comfrotable. I really didn't have much sleep that week so I nearly went to sleep on the way but couldn't because I realised my hair would go all funny, and I was wearing extens so I didn't really feel like chancing it to be honest. PHOTOS:

my breakfast on the way to LDN to get the train

We went to a Japanese restaurant called Sakura which was run by REAL Japanese people! Im sick of going into "Japanese" restaurants with rude as hell Chinese and Korean staff...
BLOGGERS
I had to sharpen this as the woman that took it, took it blurry
There was a festival going on! and to mention that it was DAMN HOT. like 30+ degrees!
Hello Kitty items at H&M, my fave : D
Supplies for the train home, yes, 3 magazines, 4 if you count COSMOPOLITAN's "31 days of Summer Sex" haha

Last Tuesday I went to the monthly Japanese social event in London (one is the second month of every Tuesday, and one is every Thursday) and we saw this on a table:

A girl had sat here and made bunnies out of all different coloured papers! The Zebra one was instead of black paper I think as it went down in colours. Sorry for bad photo, but it was sooo cute!

THIS COMING THURSDAY, 22ND JULY, the Gal Circle, (well, some of us) are doing another Culture Talk at Kyoto Event, so if you happen to be in London, please come!

I almost forgot to say! I have my first photoshoot in 2 yearson Monday! exciting!
And Im still waiting to see the MV! I can't wait ~

For my last set of photos, me and my sister went shopping today. I had to make a return to H&M, but there isn't one in my town, so I went to another one, Wimbledon (yes, where they play tennis and eat strawberries at select times of the year) and ended up making a return, as well as some purchases, but I only spent £30 so im dead happy : D SALES are everywhere! yay!

LUSH Dark Angels. Its actually like, jet black, but the lighting in the room made it a grey-ish colour

LUSH Fresh Farmacy. I haven't a photo of the item as I haven't opened it yet, so check out the website's listing instead.

I love this bag! Its like a fake Pauls' Boutique bag haha

I love this on the inside of the tee! SO true : D

Thats it! OH and if you're from the UK and haven't seen Misfits yet, THEN FUCKING WATCH IT
(I don't know if you'd be able to in US, sorry!)

(can't embed)

(that video explains it for you US viewers!)

IM BACK

Hellohellohello!
Guess who's back in the....okay ive returned..you get the point.
Im so sorry ive left you all alone for so long! But I have been sneakily reading other blogs and tweaking my own whilst ive been away. You may have noticed that my blog now has 3 columns and is slightly thinner than before, so you may get loooooong blog posts from me showing all the random crap that I fill them with.

My last blog post was a short outburst at the Gal Secrets, the Burn Book of the Western Gal Community. Its actually more like the part in Mean Girls when Regina gets so pissed (and slightly psychotic) and photocopies the book and literally throws it around the school. Gal Secrets is like the moment when all the students come out of the classrooms and read the pieces of paper. The part when they all turn into "jungle animals" is like when people comment about the secrets on the lj itself, or go round various websites etc etc and post their hate/whatever about the secrets. ANYWAY. DONE.

Saving for Japan is proving to be extremely difficult as my "boss" still has a mega problem with me refuses to admit that there is. I am desperately seeking a new job and its awful. No one is bloody interested! I did have a "fake" job interview thing last week, where I was "selected" for an interview, but turned up to find 40 other people waiting there and to be told that the "company" is looking to train "managers" in 8-10 months instead of the usual 3-5 years. Because that doesn't sound dodgy does it? They were selling the same bull to all of the people there. And I didn't get a call back. *sigh*. I even bought a smart new shirt for that interview!!! Nevermind.

Im thinking about doing a management course though. The lovely Shaka asked me where I see myelf in 10 years time, and it didn't take me long to think and say that I wanted to be in charge somewhere. I want to be working in, or have close relations with people in Japan, and working for/owning a media company. I want to be able to help younger girls (like my age and younger or older) be accepted in whichever style they choose to take through life, so basically, id like to be like a western Sifow. I want to be able to say that im able to manage a large group or company, so I might take a look online into management and business courses and see where it takes me! I hope ive finally found something that I can do with my life. Ive always struggled not knowing where I can go, or what I can do, so this is a big change and surprise for me. When everyone else went to University, I got 2 jobs and started earning money and not doing anything to do with the qualifications or results that I had gained. Languages come super easy to me, so my Japanese classes should be great and will definitely help out. I also know French, so bring on the world!

Ill share some photos with you from the past month or so :

Me and some Japanese girls dressed up to promote 25% off YO!Sushi. I asked them if I could take a photo with them in Japanese and were shocked to find that I wasn't Japanese! They said my pronounciation was spot on. NICE

Most of my Nail and deco pieces (theres more)

I decided to make some nails for last weekend's Gal Cir meet, so these were the things I used, and the plan I drew out for the nail design

The finished product....the lighting makes them look awful. And I lost one...great

Some buys..........

Yes, the weekend just gone was not only EUROVISION, it was also a Gal Cir meet, and when Monica Tang came to visit! Shes such a darling! She's written about meeting us in her blog, so go check it out! She says we're like sisters, which I toally agree! Myself, Niijii and Caryn all got along so well with her! We're the four brownies! Monica did such a cute braid on me, and taught me how to do one, so ive been practising like mad:

(The one Monica did for me)

She also makes me want to update my wardrobe! That girl has serious style! I definitely feel more mature meeting her! Bye bye random closet pieces! Hello MT inspired fashion!

I went out to dinner with my man to TGI's last night. We haven't seen each other in a while due to his University work, so I was really happy. Blog from this tomorrow!
