sickly and life

Hello!

Wow, I had no clue I had actually only posted one entry in May :s Sorry about that!
WELL the good news is that I have lots to write about and for you all to read about, so essentially it's not too bad!

As my title suggests (not that any of my titles ever make sense unless it's about a serious topic such a hair/beauty/trips haha) I was a bit weird and sickly over May! More so over the last week and a bit. Don't worry, I'm not horrendously ill! The weird thing that I got (and I'm not even sure how really) was an infection in my thumb, So basically, my thumb turned really voodoo and started to swell up and hurt like hell. At first I thought I had maybe hit it really badly and there was a bruise underneath the nail, so I took of my nail varnish...and there was nothing there. Hmm. Super strange. So I left it for about 2 weeks (totally clever) until it got to the point where it was throbbing, I couldn't bend it properly and if I tried to use it, it was a bad idea.

I rang up the NHS helpline one Saturday and described my symptoms and was met with the response of "why on EARTH have you decided to leave it this long?? You SERIOUSLY need to go to a doctor or A&E right away". Shit. ':D I was told an out of hours GP would contact me (which they didn't) but I decided to go to A&E after work. I got to spend a glorious 2 hours in a waiting room with lots of small children crying, when all I wanted to do was sleep/watch Eurovision/be out with my friends/etc. Yeah. There was no TV. So no Eurovision! I heard that England and Ireland were shit. Again. Haha.

By the time I saw the doctor, I pretty much diagnosed myself for him and he just hmm-ed and ahh-ed and went along with what I said. The other weird part about it is that there is no entry wound or any visible place to the infection, so it was hurting really badly but there was no obvious sign to show why or where :s He prescribed me with some medication, yay! But by the time I saw him, the late night pharmacy was closed. Great. So, early the next day (on a sunny Sunday) I went to go and get my drugs! And I'm pleased to say THEY BLOODY WORK YAY. I am a bit awful at taking any kind of medication though and often forget so I still have a full day to take after forgetting to take them with me to work...oops. I noticed yesterday what looks like a bruise underneath my nail...I hope this goes away haha. I also went to go and see The Great Gatsby the same day! It's an amazing film. Not my regular choice, but definitely a great one to see, literally! It's most definitely a Luhrmann film too, considering the whole 1920s setup and...Jay Z (???) music infusion.

I literally had one week in May where I was busy every single night. WHAT. I have never ever been that popular haha. But I really enjoyed it! Being cooped up at home is so boring. Here is a small catalogue of my face during these last few weeks;

NO MAKEUP WOOHOO. And I have more eyebrow than this now too....
This was on an evening I went to go and see Anastasija!
This was after I spent a wonderful day baking with Maria!

I took this lovely high-res photo on my sister's camera. ITS SO HIGH DEF I DON'T LIKE IT 100% but  my hair is nice :D
This was from a night out when I went to a friend's leaving drinks! BEST NIGHT!
Me and Maddie from above said night..haha

Amongst photos of my face, here are a few photos of stuff that's happened too! (all photos are from my Instagram, which you can view in the right hand corner of this blog!)

OMG RIGHT. My friend Akihiro went to Japan for a trip and brought me back these amazing gifts!

BAKING! Me and Maria made cookies and cupcakes and vegetarian spaghetti bolognese too! We are pros <3 td="">
My friend Georgina came back to the UK for a visit and brought Pennie with her again!
I have a Vine too now! You can follow me @hibkoko
So yes!! Exciting times. I want to share these few videos with you too, as they are HILARIOUS and keep me going when I feel a bit meh.

MILES JAI NEVER FAILS. I LOVE HIM.

The girls are back!!

See you all soon(er)!! AND OMG I GO TO PARIS ON FRIDAY AHHHHHHH

Thursday, 28 March 2013

donc

Bonsoir!

I wanted to let you all know about some exciting news (it keeps coming, I tell ya!) about some upcoming trips that I have to the wonderful Parisian streets of France!

Yep, that's right, I'm going to Paris! I haven't been since 2007/8 when I went on a school trip (lol) but I used to go to France quite a lot with my family via the Eurotunnel and Eurostar. I think my parents really wanted to make sure me and my sister were "cultured" in some way or another and really enjoyed taking us on day-trips to see France! It's so weird thinking that you can essentially be in another country in about an hour! (dependant on the journey type of course)

Photos from the last time I was in Paris...5 years ago! I look so different in that middle picture (on the left!)

Anyway, I'll be going to Paris twice in the next few months, how lucky! But this is going to be pretty awesome too, as I haven't been anywhere abroad this year, with my last two trips abroad being in the late summer of last year! I'll be going first in May with my Japanese friend Yukika, who I met at the end of last year and who is coming to study in England from April-June! She's so cute, and I actually met her through a music artist, after seeing her in a video on YouTube! I started following her on Instagram and we became friends! It's crazy what can happen online!

Here we are at M&M's world!
She has never been to Paris and wanted to go really badly, and after uploading some photos of Tokyo Disney and Disney Sea on her IG, I was thinking "hmm... maybe we should do Euro Disney!" so, yeah! It's happening! I'm so amped to go! I haven't been to Euro Disney, only Tokyo Disney & Disney Sea!

Tokyo Disney Sea '09
Tokyo Disney '10

I really want to wear my Mickey/Minnie ears hat around the park...I hope I don't forget to pack it!! We'll also be exploring Paris for a day, and it will be nice to find souvenirs and things to take photos of! Haha, what a typical tourist! My second trip to Paris will be in July  and I'll be going with the lovely Michelle who runs Roxie Sweetheart and some other really amazing girls, like Ellen from Cyberdog Brighton! We'll be going to Japan Expo which is something I've wanted to go to for a long time, but never really got around to sorting a trip out! I know there was a UK Japan Expo back in 2007/8 but apparently it wasn't very good, and I don't think they've done one since! I've heard so many great things about the one in Paris, so I'm really excited to be going!

Well, of course I'll be sharing photos and videos of my trips, and of course I shall write about them! I hope you're looking forward to these entries! I'll leave you with this really empowering song by Bif Naked, one of my favourite artists! I felt a bit strange today and listening to this really brought my mood up! Enjoy <3 p="">

avalanche

Hello!

Wow, since I've been back home I've been waking up super early all the time, mostly due to a whining cat at 5am, but usually around 6:30/7 every day and I don't feel tired! Amazing! I've never felt like that before after sleep, and I have the biggest bags under my eyes 24/7! I pretty much look like I'm dead with no make-up on - my face is pale, and my eyes have that "sunken" look to them haha.

Speaking of no make-up, today I'm meeting up with Dec to be his "fantasy" make-up model! It's going to be really fun and interesting to do! His make-up skills have always been really bad ass and when we were doing Manba still, I think that was just the beginning of his skills becoming great! He's always been awesome at art too, and the two kind of go hand in hand together. I've noticed that a lot of brilliant make-up artists and models are usually as equally talented with a pencil and paper as they are with brush and face!

Anastasija and Ryo are probably two of my favourite MUAs and models, that are both just so! Plus they're my good friends too!

Anastasija (that's her bottom left!) and some of her make-up looks. She is awesome! She uses a lot of gore and goth themed styles for her make-up looks and you can find the occasional fantasy look too! She actually won first place in the Illamasqua Distinction in Make-up Awards for Non-Professional category! (her entry is the bottom right photo) Well done girl! <3 p="">

Ryo (that's her in the above 3 pics, except the bottom left) is just amazing! I've known her for a few years now, and the day I met her, we ended up modelling together for an exhibition! It was amazing! She usually does fantasy, edgy and colourful make-up looks, and you can always find something spooky there too! She also entered the Illamasqua Distinction in Make-up Awards for Non-Professional category (her entry is bottom right) and asked me to be her model! Unfortunately I couldn't as it was too short notice for me to get the day off work, but she did amazingly well! <3 p="">

But as well as these two amazing girls, there are so many others out there that are amazingly skilled! It really makes me wish I had gone further with make-up, but hopefully this year (finally) with some hard work and perseverance, I'm going to do something! I really want to do a Special FX Make-up course, but the only thing that limits me in a way is 1) the price, as these kinds of courses are always super pricey, even for the short courses, and 2) none of the courses are in London! Yes, I could travel, but it's the cost of travelling out of London however many times a week which gets expensive :s But, it's something I've wanted to do for so, so long. and I need to put my mind to it if I really, and truly want to make it happen! Another thing that's creative and interests me, is the production and skill behind the Jim Henson Creature Workshop. That's like, goal 2 I guess! It's an even more limiting thing that I'd love to do, because 1) there are no more workshops in the UK (Jim Henson was an American but a lot of his films were made here in the UK, and they used to have a workshop in Golders Green, close to where I used to live!) so I can't just travel to North London or wherever it is however many times a week, it would have to be in the USA and 2) I'd definitely need some kind of degree in SOMETHING to be able to even dream of working with such talented people! That is something I lack. Haha. I didn't go to Uni because I wanted life experience and to not get into debt. And that's exactly what I got and I've enjoyed it!

On another note, I know I mentioned being in a hair show and I'm excited to say that the date has finally been arranged! I'm going to get my hair done at the end of this week! It's so exciting and cool! The only thing is that they've asked me to bring alone "rockabilly" style clothing or anything that looks like "Amy Winehouse" lol!!!! I HATE Amy Winehouse. I don't own anything like that! I guess I'll have to beg, borrow and steal!

Thank you to the kind comments on my last blog entry too, since typing it, I still do feel quite good about myself, and I think in a way, I didn't ever realise or think that I'd be able to feel this good about everything so soon after it happening. Maybe this is the way that things are meant to be? We can't see the future, so you never know what could happen! I know I can be strong, and with time on my side, I'll be able to work through this :)

Things like this have been keeping me sane and keeping me happy! See ya!

Getz

Hello!

I wanted to share some recent "gets" with you! As I'm lazy and can't be bothered to take photos on my phone, here are some brilliant stock photos for your enjoyment :D

1: TOPSHOP Acid Wash Denim Hotpants
Lalalalalalalalove these, they are comfy and my butt hands out of them~~<3 p="">

2: TOPSHOP Bleach Denim Dungarees
I look like the cutest farm-hand ever in these. I used to wear Dungarees all the time when I was a kid, and essentially, I'm still a kid, so these are perfect for me

3: New Look Leopard Print Cabin Bag
My friend Maria from work has this bag and for months I've been like "Damn, I'm getting that bag" and the stores near me never have it, and it's ridiculously hard to find online (does not come up when you search for "leopard" or in the Bags section...wtf)

4: TOPSHOP Leopard Print Leggings
After seeing so many people that I work with wearing these leggings, I had to hunt them down (they're from last year/the year before) and so I found some (in pristine condition) on eBay for about £6. Sorted

5: Primark Mens "NY LA" and Sugar Skull Tees
MENS STUFF AGAIN OMG. Because I like the designs. And plus, this girl also has the skull tee :D I'll probably do some cutting on the tops, purely because I want them to look slightly different. The "NY LA" one was reduced, and I think I'll turn it into a vest, and possibly make the skull one off the shoulder. WHO KNOWS.

Noticed how these "gets" aren't anything to do with my "wants" from last week? That's because I haven't gotten around to ordering them just yet :) Pretty much all the items (except the lipstick) are online and I haven't seen them in my store or a store near me yet. The lipstick came into my store and I was actually really disappointed, and it is now OFF the list! In the photo it looks like more of a "bubblegum" purple colour but irl it's more of a darker purple. NOT what I wanted. Damn.

As well as spending money and not paying my rent again, I went to a potential room viewing today which went super fantastically well, and I would quite like to possibly say yes. YAY.

I'll leave you with a great song from BoA! A dance I totally want to learn:

to drop on the world like its raining

HELLO HELLO HELLO

This is a rather...belated post I guess?! I can't believe I took a 4 month hiatus from my Blog and didn't say anything to you guys about it! (It was quite unintentional I promise you)

I guess, since August, my life has been moving pretty quickly! And how strange that the year seems to fly by - it's almost Christmas (that's if we survive the supposed Mayan Apocalypse), the last time we'll see a consecutive date EVER (12/12/12) and then it will be 2013! Didn't we once say that in 2013 we would have flying cars or some shit? I swear that's in one of those boy-films about space and future stuff that I'm not all too concerned with :)

WELL to tell you about my life, I obviously still have my other job, which is going really well! I really do love my team, they're wonderful and hilarious people with some of the best quotes I've ever heard in my life. Quote 1 from Kelsey; "I wrapped myself in gaffa tape the other day and tried to escape because I wanted to pretend like I was in Taken 2"

THIS my friends, is what fuels me each day.

Although I primarily work on TOPSHOP, I will be moving downstairs to TOPMAN over Christmas tomorrow, which I am really excited about as I'll be doing a lot more training - visual merchandising (more advanced than when I was just merching make-up each day I tell you) more reports and all the stuff that will make me super-human Eilish! On a VM note, our awesome team have made a pretty fabulous window at the moment;

Isn't that Galaxy drop just so gorgeous? So gorgeous that it HAD to go on my wall at home!

See?

Oh yes. I have PINK HAIR AGAIN!! I actually dyed it in October because October is Pink Month, aka Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And it feels pretty good to have pink hair again.

I hope you can forgive me for this long stretch away, and I will definitely continue to update more thoroughly from now on. I think in a way, I kind of got scared to write on my blog because I knew it had been such a long time?

I'm going to add an instagram blog code into here too so you can check out all my new photos, as I tend to upload them more to there than I do anywhere else!

And finally, I'll leave you with a song:

26 days

Hi guys! I have an entry in my drafts at the moment! I started it last night but I was so tired, and ended up going to bed at way past 1am, and tonight i'm really tired again, and don't have the energy to post a lot (it's a lot!) so i'm making a quick post for you!

Just some quick updates of stuff happening recently;
-My Mom has decided to get a cat after all the years of saying "no" even though she loves them and after we've had 2 dogs
-I'm going to Ireland in September for a wedding, which will be my first time to Ireland since I was about 16! A LOT has changed since then! My family will think i'm damn weird haha!
-I got my blood test results - all clear! But i'm still feeling crappy..ugh!!
-X JAPAN is at the end of the month! I now have a countdown clock on the right hand side of my blog!
-I bought some shiny clothes (FINALLY) at work so now i'll have shiny boobs and a shiny arse, woohoo!
-I finally managed to get my hands on a black bed set...haha

Have a few videos of some of my current listenings :D

I'm also pretty much addicted to "Getaway? Search Me" by Zeppet Store but there's no video online anywhere with the track! I wanna share it but I caaaaan't!

Talk sooooon!

pure dance

Hi guys! Sorry to keep you hanging around for a post but I haven't really been at home this week, as i've been staying with my guy as his flat is much closer to work! We've been having super fun food shopping and cooking times! 8D

I'm changing my hair colour! I think I may have briefly mentioned it on here a little while ago, but I can't remember...either way, it's changed from that now too! Before, I was going to get this:

Sakochi's hair ages ago!

I saw this come up on my Facebook feed all the way back in October when I was still away in the land of the rising sun; i.e. Japan; and was like OMG YES and when I returned, my laptop broke! So I no longer had the photo! I desperately messaged people (thanks to Sami and Janis!!) and finally found the photo! And by this time I was desperate to have this done! After a short while though, I changed my mind and settled on this:

ignore bad 'shopping!
Basically, I wanted my hair to be purple all over instead of the half blonde/half purple combo. BUT THEN I changed my mind again. The only fault I had with this hair colour was the black underneath, and this served a problem if I wanted to bleach my hair again (a definite possibility) if I got bored with the colour, and as we all know, dark hair can be a nightmare to bleach! Especially considering it was at the bottom, where my hair is most damaged right now, so I decided to leave this hair colour and start afresh. Purple has always been a fave colour of mine (hence the HIB logo/forum colours!) and while I enjoy pink, I'm quite happy to move onto something new! More specifically, light purple, or should I say, Manic Panic Mystic Heather :D

And this should give me this kind of colour (sorry, it's the only decent photo I could find....lol):

EXCEPT I'll leave the dye on for a little longer/not wash out as much as I want it to be a bit more vibrant :D The end result should *hopefully* look like this!

Yep, purple going into white. Not blonde, like I currently have, but mega white white. I couldn't really care less if the dip dye/two tone trend is "out" or if it looks really similar to the hair I have now...I just really like the colours and the way it looks! 8D! I'm going to have a Fabulous day with Rosie and another girl from work, Kirsten, soon! We're all going to style each other out and look amazing, I can't wait! I haven't had a really girly day/night in ages so this will be really fun!
My dye came today, and now I just have to order my extentions! I can't wait to have new hair! I should also probably get my hair cut too...considering I haven't had it done since Oct 1 2010 lol! My hairdresser probably thinks i've run away somewhere else >.< I got a text from my hairdresser with an offer of 50% any one service but it expires on the 6th March and i'm going away this weekend!! Sucks! I'm off to Center Parcs with my girls from school and I can't wait! We went food shopping this evening and stocked up on stuff. Expect lots of photos and stuff!

We've just started playing this song at work...it's great haha~
Update at the weekend!

freak

Hi everyone!

It's officially the first of February, and my first post for this month! I'm off to Oslo, Norway today to see the beautiful Monica and Ingvild! I am so godamn excited, I can't believe two weeks have gone by already! (It was two weeks ago that I sporadically decided to visit) I had a mad last minute pack as I went out last night and now i'm satisfied that i'm ready to go! The suitcase is locked and nothing else is going in!

I really wanted to make a new nail set but I just didn't have the time, but I have some cute gold sparkly nails at the moment, so they're pretty and that's all that counts right? I just hope to god that I get on my flight this time after last summer's disaster...haha. I think I will actually die if not....

Here are some songs to play you out (not particularly new, but a good nevertheless) and I will see you upon my return!

We've just started to play this Fake Blood song at work, and the video was produced by the same company that I did the music video for back in the summer. The guy with pink hair is called Sam, and said he always manages to jump in videos at some point! It's a mad song, but really addictive! And when it's played from our speakers/sound system at work it's awesome!

Bye bye!

slimes.

Hi guys! This will be my last post for January! What the hell..January is gone already??

I bought a monthly travelcard today because i'm travelling into London all the time, so theoretically this should be cheaper for me *fingers crossed* but it was really expensive >.< Luckily I only really need 2 zones for where I need to really get to in London (Camden and Morden), so if I had gotten a card with all 4 zones on...I would be so upset lol!

Sorry I didn't update you the other night! (apart from my little filler post)
I've just got home...and I went out on Saturday night lol! I went out with some work friends to an alternative club called Slimelight, which is held in Electrowerks in Angel. That was actually where Tokyo Decadance was held back in 2008, although Slimelight uses the whole club when it's on, and TD only used one small floor/room and a bar! I kept getting confused as every set of stairs or coridoor we went through, we ended up back in the same place we needed even though it felt like we were going to all these new places?? Ahh! Luckily I had some of the girls to take me so I didn't get lost!

And going to an alt club for the first time happened to be so stressful! What was I supposed to wear?! I was told that "everyone wears Cyberdog" but "don't wear Cyberdog because people will think you work there" and "oh just wear loads of Cyberdog, it's fine" and "just wear all black, it's safer!" LOL so of course I was so confused about what I should really wear! I should mention that the clubnight has a dresscode to ensure that so stupid people (i.e. chavs and drunk old men) don't get in. In the end, this is what I settled for:
Sorry for low lighting!
Shrug: Cyberdog
Dress: LIP SERVICE
Tights: offbrand
Boot covers: d.i.a.
Boots (you can't see): Peacocks
I have some other photos to share but I need to actually head out now as i'm back out to Camden (i've only been home from being there for about 40 minutes!) to go out for a "Pay Day Drinks" thing with work people. I'll write a post tomorrow (first post of Feb and 101st post which obviously means a giveaway... :D) with the photos just before I pack to go and see Monica and Ingvild in Norway! :D I AM SO EXCITED!

feel the noise

Hi guys! It's Friday, and the start of the weekend! What are your plans?

I'm working tomorrow but because i'm still broke I won't be going out :( Some people from work are going to Slimelight, a place in Angel/Islington in London, but i'll be going home! I'll try and go with them at some point maybe!

Mentioning my last post about the night out I had, here is the infamous "Fire" video I spoke about!

I wanted to share with you guys some of the stuff i've been listening to recently! It's a few CD's we play at work, but they're quite good and some of the tracks are really catchy! One CD is Electro Minimal, you can preview the tracks here, and the others are both Private Fiction works. Here's one of the tracks from Private Fiction Digital Dynamite, David Guetta ft. Estelle - One Love (Fat Man Scoop remix):

Another song i've just started to really like is this version of Hey Hey by Dennis Ferrer:

I hope you guys have a great weekend, whatever you do! These CD's and songs are great for a night out, so why not take a listen before you go out?

the alternatives

Hello everyone!

I'm so tired today, and I woke up at 2pm, which is damn lazy! It's because I was awake for 40hrs haha. On Friday I went out with my friends from school again and I had a blast! We went to a place in Kingston called "The Fighting Cocks" which is an alternative/metal bar with a venue, pool table and Guitar Hero room, and they also have comedy shows there with really big names like Bill Bailey and Robin Williams! I went for the first time last summer, and when I went on Friday I felt rather out of place as I had tiny shorts on, heaps of makeup and generally looked more girly than some of the blokes with long hair in there, but the atmosphere is great, so noone really cares. I saw a guy in there that I met in a club once who seriously plays women around. He works for a betting company and his "blog" is about horse betting....right. I don't know if he clocked that it was me or not, but whateverm he's a PRICK

They have a jukebox full of every alternative music genre ranging from hair metal to grunge, but the majority of the music played is stuff like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth and things like that. Although im obviously into JPop, JRock and stuff, I do still have a metal streak in me! My friend is always telling me about bands she has discovered and always playing me their stuff. She's cute. I love her :D

Remember a couple of blogs ago when I talked about the Japanese Art Festival and I mentioned something about TokyoFashion.com? We're on it!
We've been put under the 6%dokidoki (and there was me writing tokidoki haha) article:

I'm proud!!!! The angle of the photo make me look a bit funny but i'm still happy!

The next Japanese related event i'm going to is Hyper Japan, which i've mentioned before, and i'm missing out on Matsuri this year as that's when i'll be away with my man. We go not next week, but the week after!! Ooo! And then i'll be off to Japan 2 weeks after that!! Actually, while I remember, and although i'll write this again just before I go, my Japan trip dates are:

OSAKA : OCTOBER 4TH-7TH
4th: Arriving in the evening
5th: Sightseeing, souvenir buying, free to meetup with people
6th: Universal Studios!!
7th: Spending the day in Kyoto and travelling to Tokyo in the evening by highway bus haha

TOKYO : OCTOBER 8TH-19TH
8th: Arriving in the morning
9th: Caryn arrives!!

Then until the 19th, we'll be free everyday, but we'll also be visiting places like the Studio Ghibli Museum, Shibuya 109, and maybe Ueno Zoo as it was closed the last time we were in Japan as the day we wanted to go was New Years Eve...haha We fly back on the 19th, but our flight is at like 11pm, so we'll be free in the day and will head back to Osaka at about 7pm, just to be on the safe side! Please let me know if you want to meet up! I know Emma/Bloomzy already asked me about meeting up, but if anyone else who reads my blog will be there and wants to meet, then shout! As i've said, i'll rewrite this info a day or two before we actually fly, and then i'll try and remember to update while we're out there!

Yesterday I went back to Kingston, but in the daytime, to do some shopping and I spent nearly £90 in H&M...haha:

soooo comfortable! and H&M have a sale on denim right now, it's £10 off anything, with a minimum of 2pcs per customer, so these got reduced to £19.99 from £29.99 which is great and I needed some new jeans, and these are a great price, a great fit and as I said, damn comfortable, so yay!

Again, damn comfortable!!!

I really love this cardi the more I look at it

This top is actually a light pink, but the photo doesn't really capture the colour well. I love how the skull is made up of mini leopard spots!

I also bought some (much needed) new eyelashes from MAC, #7's and some new Zoom Lash mascara:

And just randomly, here is a photo of my current makeup, which in this photo, looks different to what it looks like haha. Maybe I should get a new camera haha

I'm working on some tuts right now, so :D

Bye!
