Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside...

Hello! Happy Monday to everyone!

How was your day? The weather here is SO HOT! I've been partially melting all day. If I were an ice lolly...i'd be fucked :p Today I met with Jess, as it's been forever since I last met with her. We went into town and got our nails done!

The last time I officially got my nails done was in Japan last October

But I did do a set by myself at the beginning of the year^^! I've also worn stick-ons, but I love real nails much better as (obviously) they stay longer!

I went to a regular, low-key salon where crazy nail art is not really common, so I decided to get plain nails that I could customise at home! I have a whole nail set - tips, UV lamp, powders, liquids etc but I wanted to get the base done by a salon this time (mainly because it always takes aaages if I do it lol)

Process!

Finished..part one! Plain, pinky nails
I was originally going to have a graduated glitter but the salon were like WTF (none of them spoke perfect English so it was hard) and were even surprised and kind of looked offended when I asked for my tips to be really long! T_T but anyway, I chose the pink (it's by O.P.I. but don't know the name) and decided to leave them just pink. When I got home I was really undecided about how to actually do my nails so I looked around in my kit and decided upon....

A sea theme!!

I've always wanted a sea themed nail set but never got round to doing so until now! I hope you like them as much as I do :D! I have Legoland and dundundun X JAPAN (!!!!!!) tomorrow so i'm going to try and get an early night!

Ciaaaaaao!

feel the noise

Hi guys! It's Friday, and the start of the weekend! What are your plans?

I'm working tomorrow but because i'm still broke I won't be going out :( Some people from work are going to Slimelight, a place in Angel/Islington in London, but i'll be going home! I'll try and go with them at some point maybe!

Mentioning my last post about the night out I had, here is the infamous "Fire" video I spoke about!

I wanted to share with you guys some of the stuff i've been listening to recently! It's a few CD's we play at work, but they're quite good and some of the tracks are really catchy! One CD is Electro Minimal, you can preview the tracks here, and the others are both Private Fiction works. Here's one of the tracks from Private Fiction Digital Dynamite, David Guetta ft. Estelle - One Love (Fat Man Scoop remix):

Another song i've just started to really like is this version of Hey Hey by Dennis Ferrer:

I hope you guys have a great weekend, whatever you do! These CD's and songs are great for a night out, so why not take a listen before you go out?

1 day

Hello!

This is my last blog post before I leave Japan! :( sad times

This week has been really eventful, yet relaxing, which is nice. I found out that my laptop DOES have an SD card slot so I? could have uploaded photos all this time but it doesn't matter, I'll do it when I get back to UK~ I can't really take any new photos properly as my camera is broken! It will turn on, and I *can* take photos/videos, but the screen has screwed up so you can't see anything!

see :(

I was flicking through CARRY's books for aaaages until I came across this exact design on another girl and wanted it! They were so nice in there too! I took my friend Gen from Fuji TV along to translate for me which was great~ They were surprised to hear about Gaijin Gal and were also asking about how I did my hair and just general girl talk lol. They thought I was an artist at first and were like "omg omg omg" and I was like, no, i'm just a person lol. After CARRY, we took some puri and then headed to the Lock Up, as Caryn hadn't been there before. Unfortunately Gen had to go back to work :z so the three of us went instead. Here is some puri!

The Lock Up was pretty classy, and I really missed their spicy chicken! Although it's not really that spicy haha. The next day, Caryn went with her friend to the beach on the other side of Tokyo while me and Dec went to Tokyo station to change our Shinkansen tickets. Our flight is from Kansai Airport, so we get to experience the magic of the bullet train! Everyone says it's cool, so i'm quite excited to give it a go. We bought a special reduced ticket for Y12,000 which must be purchased one month to one week of departure, BUT, the time we selected would have meant we would have arrived at the airport with 1hr before our flight left! And we need to be there at least 3hrs before,(thanks to Caryn for bringing that to our attention!) and I had read on the JR website that you can change your ticket once with no charge, so off we went to the station.

At first we were told "you can't change your ticket" and we were like ...!!!!!! and panicking, but the woman behind the desk was kind and helped us out and said that if we wanted to change the ticket type rather than the time (as we bought a set time ticket and because it was a special fare and the time to buy it had passed, we wouldn't be able to change it) we could do so for an extra Y1,770 I think it was in the end, which is their commission (she said!). So now we can travel at any time which makes things easier and we're much more relaxed now! It's such a relief when you manage to sort out problems like that, especially last minute! That definitely teaches me for trying to be too casual about times~

We went back to Harajuku to see if we could find any cheap things for family and friends but there wasn't anything my lot would like so I went back home and Dec stayed out. When he got back, we went to the Denny's next to the station near our hotel, lol! I thought it was supposed to be American food, like burgers and stuff, but it was like Royal Host (if you've never been, it's like cheap curry, pasta and those hamburg steak things - like Little Chef in the UK) and we were a bit like "oh.." haha. The Caramel Pancakes were SO BLOODY NICE THOUGH. Yum. We took Caryn there the following afternoon haha and we all ate so many carbs, like a potato croquette, rice AND wedges, wth. In the evening, me and Dec went to the Tokyo Decadance bar in Shinjuku. It was ....okay, I guess. Sorry Adrien :z

On Saturday, we went to Shinjuku in the daytime and then met up with someone we met at the Hyper Japan event in London the day before we went to Japan (nice photo on gal secrets lol!!) ans she brought Satomi from Happie Nuts with her! She was soooo classy and so funny. She is the QUEEN of mad faces! She has a whole load of photos on her phone of her doing crazy ass faces! We went to a really small, and really yummy Yakitori place just opposite Shibuya station and stayed there for about 3 hours or something. Hiromi from Nuts also came to join us, and she is one of the most friendliest and down to earth people I have ever met! We got on straight away, it was like we'd known each other for years or something, which was good, considering she's a model and dj and well known and i'm just me lol. We went to Freshness Burger after everyone went home and chatted for ages. Her English is really good, and she was like "I want to learn English more! my English sucks!". She's so generous and kind, I hope she takes my advice!

Yesterday we went to 109 for the last time and also to SEF Deluxe (para para event) and on the way, we randomly bumped into Lexi (gaijin gal) who you might remember from the Fuji TV segment on foreign gals~ It was cool! Today we went to Disneyland and i'm ADDICTED to the Halloween Street: Welcome to Spookyville song! I NEED IT AS MY RINGTONE AND I DIDN'T BUY THE BLOODY CD IN THE SHOP AND I CAN ONLY FIND SOME EXPENSIVE ASS CD ONLINE.....:z

ANYWAY long blog, sorry! Off home tomorrow! 2 lovely flights :(
See y'all on my return, or in Dubai!

Today was supposed to be the July meet for HIBISCGYARU but it didn't really turn out that way as not everyone was able to come. It was still a good day (minus the sunburn and rashes) as those of us that did go; Ivan, Floz, Caryn, Georgie and Chris, Floz' fiance; had a BBQ and it was great! We had meeeeega para session too : D The boys are a big help with the BBQ, not that us girls don't know how to cook and whatever, but its their thing you know? Besides, im proving to be good housewife material for my man and he loves it. He always says hes lucky to have me as I have all the essentials like cooking and sewing and stuff. He also tells me im GORGEOUS!! yay :D

Ivan starting the BBQ. Love the class guy behind... There was like some huge colony of people that came later on with a HUGE tent and everything it was like wtf? and they were taking mick out of us doing para and filmed us thinking they were "funny"...fucks sake

Chris BBQin'

IM BACK

Hellohellohello!
Guess who's back in the....okay ive returned..you get the point.
Im so sorry ive left you all alone for so long! But I have been sneakily reading other blogs and tweaking my own whilst ive been away. You may have noticed that my blog now has 3 columns and is slightly thinner than before, so you may get loooooong blog posts from me showing all the random crap that I fill them with.

My last blog post was a short outburst at the Gal Secrets, the Burn Book of the Western Gal Community. Its actually more like the part in Mean Girls when Regina gets so pissed (and slightly psychotic) and photocopies the book and literally throws it around the school. Gal Secrets is like the moment when all the students come out of the classrooms and read the pieces of paper. The part when they all turn into "jungle animals" is like when people comment about the secrets on the lj itself, or go round various websites etc etc and post their hate/whatever about the secrets. ANYWAY. DONE.

Saving for Japan is proving to be extremely difficult as my "boss" still has a mega problem with me refuses to admit that there is. I am desperately seeking a new job and its awful. No one is bloody interested! I did have a "fake" job interview thing last week, where I was "selected" for an interview, but turned up to find 40 other people waiting there and to be told that the "company" is looking to train "managers" in 8-10 months instead of the usual 3-5 years. Because that doesn't sound dodgy does it? They were selling the same bull to all of the people there. And I didn't get a call back. *sigh*. I even bought a smart new shirt for that interview!!! Nevermind.

Im thinking about doing a management course though. The lovely Shaka asked me where I see myelf in 10 years time, and it didn't take me long to think and say that I wanted to be in charge somewhere. I want to be working in, or have close relations with people in Japan, and working for/owning a media company. I want to be able to help younger girls (like my age and younger or older) be accepted in whichever style they choose to take through life, so basically, id like to be like a western Sifow. I want to be able to say that im able to manage a large group or company, so I might take a look online into management and business courses and see where it takes me! I hope ive finally found something that I can do with my life. Ive always struggled not knowing where I can go, or what I can do, so this is a big change and surprise for me. When everyone else went to University, I got 2 jobs and started earning money and not doing anything to do with the qualifications or results that I had gained. Languages come super easy to me, so my Japanese classes should be great and will definitely help out. I also know French, so bring on the world!

Ill share some photos with you from the past month or so :

Me and some Japanese girls dressed up to promote 25% off YO!Sushi. I asked them if I could take a photo with them in Japanese and were shocked to find that I wasn't Japanese! They said my pronounciation was spot on. NICE

Most of my Nail and deco pieces (theres more)

I decided to make some nails for last weekend's Gal Cir meet, so these were the things I used, and the plan I drew out for the nail design

The finished product....the lighting makes them look awful. And I lost one...great

Some buys..........

Yes, the weekend just gone was not only EUROVISION, it was also a Gal Cir meet, and when Monica Tang came to visit! Shes such a darling! She's written about meeting us in her blog, so go check it out! She says we're like sisters, which I toally agree! Myself, Niijii and Caryn all got along so well with her! We're the four brownies! Monica did such a cute braid on me, and taught me how to do one, so ive been practising like mad:

(The one Monica did for me)

She also makes me want to update my wardrobe! That girl has serious style! I definitely feel more mature meeting her! Bye bye random closet pieces! Hello MT inspired fashion!

I went out to dinner with my man to TGI's last night. We haven't seen each other in a while due to his University work, so I was really happy. Blog from this tomorrow!

ive been a bad girl...

Hello~

Okay, this is the time where I really need that new job. I know I go on about it in the majority of my blogs..but whatever! Lol!

Yeah, ive been bad. Ive spent some money I should have put away for Japan *cries nonstop*
Im going to have to buckle down next week and put basically of of my pay away. This is the first of my two weeks of big money after covering for the girl at work and working every day. *sigh*. im terrible...

But anyway! Ill show you what I bought! (lol)

T_T

And im really wanting some more crazy nails after seeing Yuma's...

Apart from this, ive also been addicted to the song とうきょうはろうのしちじ ("Tokyo is 7PM" or "The night is still young"). Not, however, by Pizzicato Five, but a trancey version that was on a remix from Atom nightclub that hedonists from livejournal uploaded. I don't know who its sung by! Heres a clip:

(just scroll down til you see a little circle with a green arrow in it, clikc it and listen away!)

Ive also gone back to really liking Bif Naked and Jack off Jill, and relistening to hide and XJAPAN.

I watched Lost in Translation last night, but didn't think it was brilliant...have you guys seen it?
What did you think if you have done? And what music do you like?
