Sweet 2016

Hello, hello!

I haven't posted here in such a long, long time, and I found last night that I was able to resurrect my blog!

The main reason why I had stopped posting was due to the crossover from Blogger to GoDaddy.
Originally, I purchased my domain name, hibkoko.com, from Blogger. When Blogger moved this service over to GoDaddy, I managed my domain through there, until GoDaddy decided to sell the URL on.... Fabulous!

I couldn't access my blog at all. And last night, I was finally able to access it, for the first time in at least a year and a half!

So here we have it. Whether I carry on blogging at hibkoko or change to a brand new name, I'll be sticking to this from now on. I used to have such passion for blogging, and I wanted to reignite that passion I once had.

So for now, let's have a bit of a catch up, as my life has changed quite a lot since I last posted.

Let's see...

So the last time I posted:
I was 23 years old.
I had been living at home with my parents again for a while.
I was working as an Assistant Manager for a Topshop store.
I had silver hair.
I had a few facial piercings.
I had one tattoo.

Although not huge topics, these are some main, and noticeable (visually especially) things in my life that have changed!

Roll on 2016 (even though I'm still going to be writing 2015 on everything for the next few months) and all of the above, has now become the below:

I'm 25 years old.

How on earth did this happen?!! To be honest, I've had the attitude and mindset of a grandmother for many years now so it's not like it makes so much of a difference.

I live alone again.

Okay, so not totally alone. I live with Aimee! I'll have been living with her for two years in March.

I work in Head Office for Topshop Topman.

I work Monday to Friday again, woohoo! I enjoy my job so much more, and I have such a lovely team. (That's me on my last day in store above, and below, is me and some of my team now.)

I'm a blonde....again?

Yeah.... so I always end up going back to blonde. Long time followers of this blog will know that! I did go dark blue and mint green by mistake back in 2014 actually!

I only have three piercings now.

Okay, so not the most important thing, alongside not having silver hair, but it was a pretty big change! I now only have my right nostril, septum, and tongue piercing.

I now have a fair few tattoos...

That's some of them. 90% of the tattoos are on my legs, and it looks like they're the part of my body that will be most covered!

I'm really looking forward to writing more entries and really getting to know everyone again, and hopefully, everyone can get to know me again too!

sickly and life

Hello!

Wow, I had no clue I had actually only posted one entry in May :s Sorry about that!
WELL the good news is that I have lots to write about and for you all to read about, so essentially it's not too bad!

As my title suggests (not that any of my titles ever make sense unless it's about a serious topic such a hair/beauty/trips haha) I was a bit weird and sickly over May! More so over the last week and a bit. Don't worry, I'm not horrendously ill! The weird thing that I got (and I'm not even sure how really) was an infection in my thumb, So basically, my thumb turned really voodoo and started to swell up and hurt like hell. At first I thought I had maybe hit it really badly and there was a bruise underneath the nail, so I took of my nail varnish...and there was nothing there. Hmm. Super strange. So I left it for about 2 weeks (totally clever) until it got to the point where it was throbbing, I couldn't bend it properly and if I tried to use it, it was a bad idea.

I rang up the NHS helpline one Saturday and described my symptoms and was met with the response of "why on EARTH have you decided to leave it this long?? You SERIOUSLY need to go to a doctor or A&E right away". Shit. ':D I was told an out of hours GP would contact me (which they didn't) but I decided to go to A&E after work. I got to spend a glorious 2 hours in a waiting room with lots of small children crying, when all I wanted to do was sleep/watch Eurovision/be out with my friends/etc. Yeah. There was no TV. So no Eurovision! I heard that England and Ireland were shit. Again. Haha.

By the time I saw the doctor, I pretty much diagnosed myself for him and he just hmm-ed and ahh-ed and went along with what I said. The other weird part about it is that there is no entry wound or any visible place to the infection, so it was hurting really badly but there was no obvious sign to show why or where :s He prescribed me with some medication, yay! But by the time I saw him, the late night pharmacy was closed. Great. So, early the next day (on a sunny Sunday) I went to go and get my drugs! And I'm pleased to say THEY BLOODY WORK YAY. I am a bit awful at taking any kind of medication though and often forget so I still have a full day to take after forgetting to take them with me to work...oops. I noticed yesterday what looks like a bruise underneath my nail...I hope this goes away haha. I also went to go and see The Great Gatsby the same day! It's an amazing film. Not my regular choice, but definitely a great one to see, literally! It's most definitely a Luhrmann film too, considering the whole 1920s setup and...Jay Z (???) music infusion.

I literally had one week in May where I was busy every single night. WHAT. I have never ever been that popular haha. But I really enjoyed it! Being cooped up at home is so boring. Here is a small catalogue of my face during these last few weeks;

NO MAKEUP WOOHOO. And I have more eyebrow than this now too....
This was on an evening I went to go and see Anastasija!
This was after I spent a wonderful day baking with Maria!

I took this lovely high-res photo on my sister's camera. ITS SO HIGH DEF I DON'T LIKE IT 100% but  my hair is nice :D
This was from a night out when I went to a friend's leaving drinks! BEST NIGHT!
Me and Maddie from above said night..haha

Amongst photos of my face, here are a few photos of stuff that's happened too! (all photos are from my Instagram, which you can view in the right hand corner of this blog!)

OMG RIGHT. My friend Akihiro went to Japan for a trip and brought me back these amazing gifts!

BAKING! Me and Maria made cookies and cupcakes and vegetarian spaghetti bolognese too! We are pros <3 td="">
My friend Georgina came back to the UK for a visit and brought Pennie with her again!
I have a Vine too now! You can follow me @hibkoko
So yes!! Exciting times. I want to share these few videos with you too, as they are HILARIOUS and keep me going when I feel a bit meh.

my little pony; another hair adventure!

Hello!

WOW I have some amazing photos to share with you all! The first ones are from Tuesday when I was a make-up model for Dec! Let me share a bit more information for you~

Dec's assignment for the class was Cirque du Soleil and as there are like 3 different classes, each one was assigned a different section of the actors/characters from the show. Dec's class had to do the clown section! That was quite fun, knowing we would all literally be looking either really crazy or either really hilarious! To be honest, the reality is that Dec was the only one who really stepped out of the box (the jack-in-the-box??) to create his look on me, and I'm not just saying that because he's my friend and I know he's talented! Pretty much the whole class had obviously googled a photo of "clown" and their models ended up each with a slightly different version of a harlequin clown crossed with typical "jolly" clown make-up, and we had to sort out outfits too (the model's jobs), pretty much all of them had the typical clown candy colour 'fro. NO ORIGINALITY!!  The girls really did make an effort but it was a shame there wasn't more individuality in the group.

Except for Dec! That's where the true vision came in lol! Especially with the hair too - Dec made his own wig with real human hair! Want to see some pictures? Okay, if you insist!
haha had to add this one!!
What do you think?! Brilliant or what? It was super fun! And it really was great to see Dec too <3 p="">
It's still weird that on my days off I won't have much to do any more, mainly because most of my friends are usually working during the week (like normal people) so if I don't have a weekend day off, I can't always see them! I have plenty of ideas of ways to fill my time though! Watch this space guys and girls!

This day was great for me as I felt super positive and really happy about the future. I still feel this way, and while we can't predict the future, I feel like mine is going to get better and more exciting from now on! The fun did carry on until today, which was when I was a hair model and got my hair done! I am STOKED at how it turned out, like, I don't think myself OR the hairdresser thought it would turn out this good! This is how my hair was before (no filter on this pic - from earlier today!)

I haven't been putting any dye on it for a few weeks just because of the move and everything and at that point in time I wasn't really all that concerned with the way my hair looked! Plus, I knew the date for the the show would be soon, so it was a better idea to let it fade a bit after a few washes! It still retains a nice pastel pink colour even if I wash it a load of times, so it's guaranteed to look cute still!

And then...

The three colours used on my hair. Now, I usually don't tend to use Crazy Color that much anymore because I find it doesn't always give the results that I want, but I've noticed that a lot of UK salons will use this brand when they do a bright hair colour, mainly because it's accessible (you can get it from most major (and minor) beauty supply outlets, including those specifically for hair salons) and it's not all that expensive. I use Directions by La Riche on my hair currently, mainly because it's cheap, good quality dye that lasts a long time, doesn't stain my clothing/bedding/skin and can also be quite conditioning for your hair. It's also really good for mixing with conditioner! While I love Manic Panic, it's not that easy to get a hold of in the UK unless you buy it from a specific place, and therefore it can be pricey. The tubs are small for the price you pay and in a way, if you have to use a lot of dye for your hair, it doesn't always seem worth it. Their dyes are usually Vegan and the staying power is okay (usually dependant on how often you wash your hair) but from my experiences, the dye can also stain things pretty badly (skin/bedding/clothing and even sinks/baths/tiling) and when it does eventually fade, the pigments go really weird. For example, when my hair was Hot Hot Pink it ended up going a really vivid pink with an almost purple tone to it, but after a few washes, the pink pigments came out quite quickly and it turned a weird orangey colour, which I found strange. Their dyes also aren't the best to use with conditioner, but they have just released a brand new "Manic Mixer/Pastel-izer":

BUT again, you can also use their "Virgin Snow" to mix hair dyes down...a little known fact! Anyway, I still really love CC and MP but at the moment I guess you could say I've taken a "break" from using their colours :)

ANYWAY, carrying on with MY CURRENT hair colour! The three colours we used were "Hot Purple", "Capri Blue" and "Pinkissimo". I've actually used all of these colours at some point! When I had purple hair, I mixed the the blue and purple together to create the colour I wanted:

And when I first dyed my hair bright pink, my hairdresser at the time used the pink to do it:

SO! Here is the result! All three colours were mixed with conditioner and then we also used the pink in neat form for the roots....

THE FINAL PRODUCT AHHHHHHHHHH

HOW AMAZING DOES THIS LOOK?!?!?!?!?!?! There is NO filter used in the above picture, and in real life the colours are even more vivid pastels! I'll try to take a photo in the daylight tomorrow at some point :)
Whilst I was waiting for my roots to bleach before we added the colour, I found this in a magazine and couldn't help but compare:

Hmm..... She's stealing my hair again, lol!

I hope you enjoyed these photos and blog post! See you again soon!
